Life can be so hard

Life can be so hard

A Poem by Jack...
"

More rhyming practice

"

Life can be so hard

Stained by the illusion

Comets in my hair

Pardon the intrusion

Is anybody there

Stuck alone and reading

Words upon the page

Everyone is bleeding

Prancing on the stage

Masters of invention

Coupled up by none

Questioning intention

When the day is done

Dreams along the ocean

Beaches white with fear

Such a silly notion

Waves can shed a tear

Footprints left to wander

Washed out by the tide

Memories I ponder

Time to run and hide

Still you keep on looking

There upon your seat

Shouldn’t you be cooking

Something very sweet

I can’t stand this feeling

Waiting by the door

Moments time is stealing

Couldn’t ask for more

Just send me a greeting

Not some Hallmark card

Or I’ll run retreating

Life can be so hard

"Everything in life is fleeting. Our happiness will not last forever - but neither will our hardships."

There has to be balance in everything in life, Jack. There can never be only good or only bad times. Perhaps there are periods when one of these is more frequent than the other, but that too shall pass. As much difficulties as we may face, we simply have to remember that even though it may be storming inside our souls, outside is a beautiful day, but only if we allow ourselves to see it. :)

Look up at the sky, Jack. Because there are so many things to be happy about.

Thank you so very much my friend.
How's this little greeting -
When you face a tough defeat,
Hard times, they are fleeting -
Life can be so sweet!

This has a funny twist and also a true twist, life can be so hard. Be patient a little, the door will be opened

You mean it doesn't always have to get slammed in your face? :) Thanks so much Sunshine.
"Such a silly notion

Waves can shed a tear" These lines really jumped out at me. This poem is amazing. Really I had to read over it a couple times and each time I took more and more of it in. I loved it. So much symbolism, just breath taking.

You are the master of painting the most beautiful scenery with your words. The emotions you have weaved into this painting is raw and stirring. Flawless write!

Thanks so very much Madalyn. I always enjoy your visits and your kindness towards me.
There is no limit to what you can do with words my friend...if this is practice, then your full-fledged efforts should win a Nobel Prize (or The Governor-General's Award up here). Really though, the rhyme and rhythm compliment each other as well as they can be complimented...having studied much of this kind of poetry, I came to the conclusion that the flow is the more important part of a ballad-like piece...the rhymes must be showcased, but if the poem doesn't flow naturally, they don't work as well. You have no such worries in that regard Jack. This is an awesome piece.
