Granite Dominoes

Granite Dominoes

A Poem by Jack...

Granite Dominoes

The soft earth yields, I watched from above

Little by little it opens, inviting

Rectangular spaces of mudded thoughts,

sifted by spade, piled of fear

Granite dominoes stand in lined support,

dates moistened by dew…counting

Carved in regrets once felt,

loves never shared

Voices from the trees cackle,

laughter it seems brings the sun

Good riddance on fawning meadows breathes

and the sky turns to red

Applause echoes valley’d intersections

Dirt roads meet dead end byways

Tarps are draped in fielded mistings

and I see it all

Life goes on even if in minus,

faux tears fill tissues, a scented kind

all the while checking their watches

hoping for a quick release

Oak and imitation gold are lowered, polished indignity

Carnations are tossed, dying as they fly

No one remains…remains

except the quickly forgotten…

I guess this is life Jack. Quite a dark poem but I like it. You write such truth and honesty in your words as always and it touches me. I think we can sometimes be a domino though. However, once we fall - there is no way of getting back up....

Lovely.

From dust to regret, I suppose. This one really touched me.

Thanks so very much KL. I always enjoy when you visit my world.
It seems like so many are diving into the places of void, body, mind and spirit. It's not a bad thing to delve into the darker parts of who we are or our world around us...because it helps us better appreciate the light.
Kiss the Granite...let it go and embrace the light:) xo
