Drowning in vacuous reality

Drowning in vacuous reality

A Poem by Jack...

Drowning in vacuous reality

Downy driftings meander, fading

mellifluous nectar’d streams

Tiny chills on sunspot whispers glisten

Cluster’d inflorescence in dew drop wishes

awash my mind in feather’d indigo tintings

Finding chrysanthemum clarity blooms

amidst longings a’ fill my heart

Billowy silver lined cloud-like petals

aromatically waft sweet on senses,

teasing Cheshire grins now lost…alone

Emerald tea light skies twinkle

above silent unheard cries

Dampened dreams swim in tear drop oceans

Salted mistings a’ flow dark moon tides,

lineless shores sleep unaware

Knees meet sand, deeply soaked,

granuled pleadings weep celestial mosaics

White-knuckle fears break the surface

as eyes scan diamond washed heavens, alas…

drowning in vacuous reality

This is one of those pieces that I enjoy primarily for the images themselves as opposed to any concrete message. I get referred to as abstract on a regular basis, and I wonder if this is how those people feel when they read me. Poetry isn't always about meaning for me, it's more about the journey than the destination if you will. Most of the time I am enthralled by things like rhythm, word choice, images and so on. And they don't always have to be greater than the sum of their parts. Splendid and imaginative work as always my friend.

Thanks Thomas. Nice to see you again.
This one is deep - no pun intended - but wow, you just about took me under with you Jack. You can't let yourself drown my friend, you need to keep your head above water and not let anyone or anything do this to you, it's not worth it in the long run.

The imagery is so vivid and worded so well. I couldn't pick a stanza because I loved it all.

Damn, Jack! This one is a deep caged feeling. Vivid imagery and well chosen words. Love the last stanza, especially. Good morning!
