Windowsill Weepings

Windowsill Weepings

A Poem by Jack...

Windowsill Weepings

Draped as a curtain of silk disbelief

Tied back emotions lie still on the wall

Blocking the sunlight to pause in relief

Collections of dust form in spite of it all

Streaks hold the fingerprints bound of the day

Smeared in designs of a weakened refrain

Window sill weepings with nothing to say

Magnified teardrops add depth to the pane

Transparent wishes once hidden from view

Wait in the darkness this side of the dawn

Boarded up portals now moistened of dew

Nothing to see ever since you are gone

Thank you Tia.
your photograph poems leave me wondering which came first, the poem or the photo? there is a beauty in this confusion. which is the art and which is the inspiration and is there a difference? you blur the lines between the art and the artist and i think that is an admirable trait. Thanks for contributing Jack :)

In this case the poem came first and then I went out and found the photo. Thanks so much my friend.
I don't know how to explain it except to say that you've truly been speaking my language these days. This piece just pierced me to the bone...I know just how this feels. The form and the rhymes are spot-on. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I was close to tears upon reading this piece...I actually read it a little while ago but I had to let it sink in. Wonderful work Jack.

I picture a person looking out a window on a dark rainy night thinking about the lover/companion they have lost. Tears on the window pane. Tears in the heart.

Looking through those windows is one aspect of the state we are going through within and without. The tears, the longings, the cries, the moistened nothings, boarded portals and so forth. A sad and loving poem that touches her and us the readers to the core...A wonderful job...:)..........
