Tear'd Goodbyes

Tear'd Goodbyes

A Poem by Jack...

Tear’d Goodbyes

Memories fall like fractured dominoes in an empty field,

one by one touching each other,

small black blocks containing pieces of my shattered heart,

white dots counting sleepless hours

Hot coffee turns cold from staring

eastward towards a mockingly vanishing horizon,

curving at the corners in smile like fashion,

sneering as sunlight reflects its meaning

Butterflies come alive in my stomach…again

Fluttering uneasiness as time counts down and cocoons open,

pastel wings of fading brilliance wave,

only to die, drowned within these tear’d goodbyes

I sit here, hands folded under my chin,

dreaming of what could have been through blurred wishes,

understanding that my feelings don’t matter

and realizing that they probably never will

There will be no sunrise today…as the dominoes fall

That's right Marie. Thanks so much.
Both, music and poem, are lovely! Clinging melancholy... beautiful sorrow... Two thoughts that come to mind as I read and listen. You're very talented, Jack-Jack. :)

That tune - sits with you... Really like it! (I know my response reads choppy, but I'm listening!!!) ;)

Thank you so very much my friend.
I'm not sure which is more affecting, your words or you sadly tune'd music, they're both beautiful in a melancholic way, together, they're a tearjerker Jack. Always pen'd to perfection my friend.

Thank you Frieda. Thank you for everything. Your kindness is always a wonderul gift to me.
A great metaphor of the dominoes falling Jack. The pain that ensues, the scramble to fix the past, the race to catch up with her. We feel like we lost a gem out of our hands...A great write...:)...............

A dear friend once told me that I only want what I can't have. I've felt this pain many times. The clear honesty of this poem hits me in the heart Jack. I feel it brother.
