And I miss you

And I miss you

A Poem by Jack...

And I miss you

Whispering fog on a dense morning breathes,

muting thoughts of where the daylight might be

Silhouette tree branches silent and gray wave on tepid winds,

mist’d endeavors weave desperate desires

Winter has claimed every color I have seen, stark realities

here in the visions now cast on my heart

Emptiness leaks upon unsuspecting dreams,

imagination finds nothing beyond this aching chest

Vast this enclosure that harbors my eyes in caged sight,

fence posts and wire strung in patterns of locked decisions

Chained link desires that can’t find the gate,

only mailboxes of memories never sealed or stamped

And I walk this lonely path, as it is my job, my destiny?

A soul’s responsibility to wonder with longing eyes

where you might be on this day with no sun, no color, no beauty… no love

And I miss you…for you are all those things to me

The wording here helps the mind wonder through this heaped emotion, well done.

Thanks so very much. Thrilled you enjoyed this.
You have brought out the feelings of missing some body really well, This feeling is really bad, sad and at times there is nothing you can do. I like the way, you take your readers to that very emotion you are feeling at that moment.

I see here, too, the search for soul. You are amazing me these days, Jack, with the depth and beauty of your work.

Thank you so very much Pryde. Your kindness always makes me smile.
Jack, the missing and wanting are so tangible in this piece.
I was especially moved by the last line,

'And I miss you…for you are all those things to me'.

Words can hardly express such depth in such a feeling.
Wonderful write.
