Tossing my words

Tossing my words

A Poem by Jack...

Tossing my words

My pen oozes feelings in splattering ink

Lines in symmetrical visions of truth

Carved from a heart that is desperate to think

Somewhere inside sleeps the essence of proof

Reaching that point where the matters at play

Running around in my mind’s subtle crest

Hoping to find the right sentence to say

This is my love for I gave you my best

When is enough more than money can buy

Simple the pleasures awaiting your touch

Tiny endeavors on wings set to fly

Sunlight and flowers and wishes and such

Still comes another of phrases to win

Sweeping you off to the end of my time

Spinning in circles as yet to begin

Lost and alone as he utters, “you're mine”

Why is it always the soft hearted fall

Deep in the crevice of fading desire

Charcoal and ashes, the flame’s ending call

Diamonds and rubies now what you require

So as I sit at this desk in the cold

Staring beyond every dream I might see

Endless the verses these memories hold

Tossing my words at what now can not be

Thank you for kindness Brittany.
Hmmm...it is a sad fact of our humanity that we just don't seem to understand the simple pleasures in our lives. We always want more...

I'll never leave. You know that.
This is absolutely beautiful and touching. Tragic and heartbreaking. My feelings are a mere puddle at your feet. Fantastic, Jack. Truly. xo :)

Thank you Sunshine. I appreciate you
This I really like, and an excellent font and form to add to the poem. Ummm, starting to feel like people are being extra cautious around their grammar for some reason ...:)

Thanks my friend. Watching our grammar...why would we do something like that?
Love that first stanza Jack, you paint in brilliant colors no matter what venue you choose. A darkly colored blue ending, but sweet nonetheless. Another outstanding piece you ace'd!

Thank you so very much Tia for your kind words this morning. Such a beautiful thing to wake up to.
This is a romantic masterpiece. Unfortunately there's a sad outcome, yet it could've been written in such a wonderful fashion. Loved the image you chosen that preceded this piece. A great piece of writing Jack. A memorable & enjoyable read. :)
