Adirondack Kind of Morning

Adirondack Kind of Morning

A Poem by Jack...

Adirondack Kind of Morning

Soft leaves underfoot, mosaics of nature

Sleeping in shadows of yawning maples

Beneath these stretching branches I roam

Foot steps in rhythm with a woodpecker’s cadence

Humming to the harmony of dawn’s cool breeze

Sunlight weaves past distant mountain peaks

Warming my face, enhancing my vision

Miles evaporate like morning dew

Moments become an ever changing serenity

For happiness waits at the end of this journey

Clear waters race between glistened stone

I splash my face in anticipation of a new day

Dreaming of her on an Adirondack kind of morning

Following a path through the mirrors of my thoughts

Listening for the endless echoes of love

Peaceful vistas beckon my heart’s desires

Cleansing my soul in lilac wanderings

Breathing the air of solitude affection

Knowing this sunrise lifts her from sleep

Praying her first thought is of me

Another beautiful poem my friend. Your use of imagery transports me to a place of serenity. Nature truly has a way of inspiring, as we hold it's beauty dear to our hearts.

Living at the Adirondack foothills 40 minutes from the top, Of coarse I'm partial to this write :-)
I'll never forget the time I was Almost stampeded by a herd of deer at my motel.

Every year I use to stay in the same room next to the pool and feed the deer sitting in my old side Adirondack chair. A Bit later I was walking the yard around the pool and Holy Blazes a herd come and I hugged that pool as close as I could. I thought for sure I was a goner. They came running and there was only a few feet between the pool and the hedgerow.
After that I never turned my back walking the yard again.
This write brings many more memories Jack thanks for the revisit.

You definitely have that Henry David Thoreau wandering the woods and expressing nature thing going on. maybe a little Walt Whitman thrown in for good measure. Excellent! Hope you have read them at some point.
