Said the shadow to the treeA Poem by Jack...
Said the shadow to the tree, “You know my friend, life is not always fair Take this vine of fingered grip Tentacles of timid meaning Holding you close as to not let go Filling each bark split void Offering a feeling of need and want
Given time it will engulf Block the sun light Tighten in mass fury Wrap itself of everything you stand for Then when strength is gone And you topple to the ground This vine will happily move on To the next tree While you rot Returning to the earth, which once gave you life” The tree replied, “But it feels so good to be wanted” The sun set and the shadow was silent © 2014 Jack...Author's Note
