Shove your fruits

Shove your fruits

A Poem by Jack...

Shove your fruits

Rain pelts my field of view

With eyes half opened and blurred

I look for any meaning that comes from being in this state

Dark highways whistle at me

Through a cracked glass

Dripping on my dark brown corduroy slacks

Still I push on

Fighting semis for control

And slow moving mini vans of a frustrating nature

But the goal is ahead

Somewhere around the next bend

Behind the fruit vendors and produce punks of the streets

Waving their goods

Hawking lower prices in my line of sight

Buy one; get one free in painted faces and snickering sneers

Bananas and coconuts

Not what I’d expect for dinner

But then again it is morning and I haven’t had my coffee yet

I awaken from this dream

Only to find that still it rains

And I shout from my darkened room, “Shove your fruits!”

I adored this one Jack. I loved the title, it made me giggle when I read the title... heehee.

Another fave!

Thanks Noodle. I am thrilled you enjoyed this one.
An awakening call of sorts and an echoed shout with sneering faces and punks roaming the streets selling their wares and fruits. You put smiles on our faces Jack and I hope you keep showing them your piece of mind...A great rant...:)..................

Thanks Xavier...truly written early this morning before my coffee.
Cold, rainy mornings are hard to drive through...I like fruit, but it may not be always welcome...

This was one of those morning Marie, which I'm sure you experienced as well. Thanks so very much.
Now this one is certainly unique, Jack. The plight of a semi truck driver on the rain soaked highway. Through the night he drives....mini vans splashing his tires. I could picture the scene and feel the damp rain on his corduroy slacks. Is he driving through the rain to get to his loved one? That's what I would think, but instead he is driving on to the fruit market where he will empty his truck and hawk his wares. Then it is all a dream? Sort of a twist ending....and I enjoyed the ride. A quirky albeit melancholy shout out from your pen Jack, a bit of sass with class, you always do it up right, no matter what you're penning. Made me smile in some odd way even in the dark rain....shove your fruits. ;-)
