Love shall keep us warm

Love shall keep us warm

A Poem by Jack...
"

For all of my friends in the North East U.S.

"

Love shall keep us warm

Clouded scarves of winter skies

Woolen wings on tempered sighs

Nature wears her white disguise

Mounting on the field

T

Laced along the bitter cold

Futures that have been foretold

Endless phrases painted bold

And our lips are sealed

T

Frozen links of glistened feel

Piled deep as to conceal

Left alone in what is real

Bracing for the storm

T

Though inside a fire roars

With the one that I adore

Let it snow forever more

Love shall keep us warm

 T

Let it snow forever more
Love shall keep us warm

:) This poem brought a big smile, Jack - enjoyed the "snow day" today, and this piece is the cup of cocoa at the end of the day...

Thank you Rita...yes indeed I saw the snow up your way...Brrrr
Hercules is definitely bearing down with all his strength, but he could never erase the warmth of love in our hearts. It's the kindling for a fire that lasts a lifetime, and often burns after we're gone.

Great job.

Thank you so very much Marie. No snow here but I can remember
The linking rhyme in this is fantastic....as is the rhyme within each stanza. Love's warmth and illumination is all that is necessary to keep a person happy on a cold winter's night....well almost. A roaring fire and a hot toddy help too! :) I especially liked the imagery in the first line of your poem "Clouded scarves of winter skies".....even the sky needs to wear a scarf in the sort of weather the Northeast is experiencing today. The one is exceptionally well written, Jack. Lydi**

Thanks so very much Lydi. Happy you enjoyed this one.
Yes, physical warmth pales in importance to emotional warmth. "Love shall keep us warm."

Thank you so much Cody.
Warmth.... is a profoundly underrated concept.
There is the glow of it in every word written here.
And I feel it... its warmth.
A wonderful read.

Thank you so very much Terry for visiting my page today. I appreciate your kind words.
You celebrate winter and its effects on the North East marvelously. I know you have friends and family and you might be a little worried about that. Your warmth and love can melt the harshest snow...Bravo.......
