Concrete Peaches - A collaboration - Frieda and JackA Poem by Jack...
Concrete peaches Endless seams of knotted hopes Collecting ‘neath orchard dreams Rows of fruited illusions bloom In aromatic cadence, even in winter’s silence Leafless branches tease misty skies producing unrealistic temptations, easily within reach of desperate fingers willing to harvest heartaches by the bushel Trudging through fields of broken promises knee deep in splintered divisions of trust devotion doesn't grow on trees it needs to be carefully nurtured Shedding layers of old decaying bark reaching for the sunlight in the dark acceptance olive branches under cover twisted roots have sapped their luster and all that remains are concrete peaches weighted words of fuzzy meanings shallow breaths on succulent breezes, free-stone mutterings of faded descent © 2013 Jack...Author's Note
