Burned out dreams

Burned out dreams

A Poem by Jack...

Burned out dreams

Lights strung above this out of place darkness

create shadows of an invisible existence

Filaments of glowing hopes and wants

droop towards empty heart beats

Alone in this overcrowded nightmare,

checking the time on faceless clocks

in no particular sequence standing

like sentries on broken boundary lines

An endless runway of lifeless orbs

dot the landscape in Morse code warnings

as I turn away in a curved defiance,

unable to accept the words touching my eyes

And still, glistening raindrops fall from overhead wires

reflecting each tear drop of prism’d descent

For even if I wake, screaming as the light disappears

she will still be gone, like every other burned out dream

The picture you paint here with your words works so well with your graphic included.
The meaning is powerful and fits with your words and thoughts on your subject.
I envision what you convey and your writing creates this.
Dreams lost or not fulfilled...but hope may continue in life.
Loss is experienced and hurt will linger.

I am captivated by your writing and your ideas. Reading it is a pleasure.
Dear Jack ... your piece conveys sadness and nostalgic longing for that once and always special person in your life. I have to stare and look sometimes for meaning and how to decipher all, if not, some of your enigmatic phrase and words. I'd like to put it this way in a language that I think I could comprehend.
You wanted to built your dream house . You picked planned and sketched everything down to minute detail.
You picked the perfect spot. Every square foot calculated, studs, rafters, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Insulations, sidings, upholstery, painted and fully furnished and landscaped too but the special person you suppose to share it with is gone .... This beautiful house though perfectly built is but an empty space...
It became a prison ... Just my take Jack ....

This is a stream of such sad words, dear Garden Guardian, makes me feel as if your 'aloneness' is a crimson scar on your spirit's surface. And, how i want to send you a cure for that. Guess it comes from your own words, love: '..For even if I wake.. ' because waking means another and another.. and.. another day in which to look back at happy, bright and beautiful times. Your words are magically tragic, they stay and touch.. you know.
