Ice blue wings

Ice blue wings

A Poem by Jack...

Ice blue wings

Staring across frozen fields

Fingertips fumble empty pockets

Weather grounds hopes on the tarmac

as all flights of fancy are cancelled

Fragile wings shiver in indigo mist

Kaleidoscopic ice forms on pastel fears

Dark lines separate floating colors

Broken hearts form where they once flew

Gusting winds of typhonic swirls

sway branchless trees in silent solitude

Rhythmic movements’ haphazardly

encase weeping angels within winter’s darkness

Transparent teardrops fall in brittle cheeked stripes

No two alike, yet the same sorrows fill

crystalline snowdrifts on distant horizons,

as my footprints disappear...as did you

Knee deep in slippery desperation

Skating through this blinding blizzard

Eyes burning on frigid visions, searching

for those tiny ice blue wings…

We just had three days of winter weather here in my land of endless summer...icy winds, freezing rain and sleet making a mess of the roads...ugh. The entire town stood still because there was...wait for it...snow...almost a half inch, fapeetsakes!!
I had to dig out a heater and everything...

the poem is absolutely lovely, my friend...like all of your stuff.
So touching and full of emotions!
I love this poem and the graphic that you picked to include here.
Sadness and coldness inside this...
Pairing nature and feelings to convey your thoughts.
The images that I see as I read it are clear and full of meaning.

Lovely poem from a sweet guy! :)
Another sad piece Jack... Your complimentary picture and your close affinity to purple hue background conveys sadness... Who you missed here as you wait and board the tarmac ?
Nice piece my friend...
