That day shall come

That day shall come

A Poem by Jack...

Scattered on dusty winds

zephyrs of despair,

saddened wings of ashen crows

above crying grey skies

morn the sorrow

that weighs down your heart

on lonely ground

with folded arms

and defiant whispers

Still the softness

of your soul

flies in circular wisdom,

sailing to new heights,

catching the breeze

of wishing wonders

under your arms

For that day shall come

when you smile…again

When going through hardships, one can only remain hopeful of the sunny days that lie ahead. Quite well penned, Jack, well done.

Thank you so much my friend. Here's hoping your smile is eternal.
A very fluid piece. Hopeful and reminiscent of the winds of change...

I heard a simple prayer for someone to smile again. You are a blessing to that person, Jack.

Always a pleasure, Jack!
I have not been on here in a while. Funny that the first poem I select is my exact emotion. As always well done! You know the soul the human spirit very well.

Thank you so very much my friend for your wonderful compliment.
I love "zephyrs of despair" - a perfect image of how things get swept away out of control. You have used some incredibly powerful metaphor in this piece and nice alliteration in the second stanza. It ends on a note of hope. This is a delicate write that I really enjoyed. Justine :)
