A Broken Man

A Broken Man

A Poem by Jack...

A broken man

Shredded letters on the floor

Empty whiskey bottles

Eviction notice on the door

Cruising at full throttle

Not a penny to his name

Longing the impending

No one but himself to blame

Misery unending

This is but a broken man

Pieces crushed and shattered

Love hath left him once again

Upon the wind now scattered

Vices form his prison walls

Slowly closing in

Death to be his last reward

He begs it to begin

Perfect Reflection..
i have seen this a few times. I know what a broken man looks like.
And think you did a perfect job with the word painting.
Maybe even too good.....

The structure of this poem feels broken, reflecting the pathos of the piece. Nicely penned Jack.

Thanks so much John. Happy you stopped by.
Such a sad beauty here, Jack, but lovely, the love you feel for the person, is great, and should be spoken, I think your words, dance here, they are a soften reassurance though... there is pain, but beauty too...

I hope you feel soon better in mood dear friend,
You make just beautiful art out of it... keep writing always.
