A Poem by Jack...

~ drowning ~

My heart sinks

in a swelling stream

neath dark cloud fed skies,

dodging raindrops

of torrential downpours

~ drowning ~

Swirling in tidal delusions

of crescent moon frowns

and wallowing tears

falling steadily

drenching my hopes

~ drowning ~

Desperately seeking

that which was lost,

collecting dampened thoughts

of discarded saturated

feelings

~ drowning ~

Washing over dreams

on a stuttering zephyr

headed towards the falls

to plunge in the flow

that was once your love

~ drowning ~

gasping for breath

treading in pain

drinking the fear

swallowing death

all alone

~ drowning ~

this reminds me of great pain, a pain never leaves you, like it wears you down, down to deep depression. Its sad but really beautifully expressed. Deep deepression is like a drowning feeling.

Thanks so much Pax.
This piece reminded me instantly of Ophelia (from Hamlet)...I can easily imagine these words being her final thoughts. The despair and loneliness of this piece is all too real to me. If these are autobiographical musings, then I can assure you that you're not alone in harbouring such musings. Wonderful work here Jack.

Thanks so much Steve. I can swim, just sometimes I choose not to.
One can feel the rope of nature strain against the rope of being pressed against something more than man can control.

Thank you so much for your visit today. I appreciate you stopping by.
Hmm yes I rather enjoyed this, although the opening I had to read several times so I think flow was lacking there, still it was carried off beautifully throughout.. thanks again :)

Angel, don't look at the picture. Thanks my sweet friend.
"In my dreams I was drowning my Sorrows and my sorrows learned to swim." U2: until the end of the world. This poem reminded me of that line. Really good, hard hitting, emotional poem Jack

Very nice on your subject! I like the picture, too. I think you should increase the size of the font here because it is hard to read right now. Nice breaks!

You are Welcome! The small font makes it hard on my eyes~LOL!
You have captured the torrid isolation of the ordeal, the fear, the torment, brilliantly, great work.
