One Little Twig

One Little Twig

A Poem by Jack...

One Little Twig

One little twig shall prove the point

My duty now is to be true

The perfect nest of love and joy

My heart it will prepare for you

Upon this twisted branch will start

A life with you that I shall spend

Beneath my wing I’ll keep you safe

With honor you I will defend

Forever I will cherish you

While circling the skies above

And far beyond the day I pass

I promise my eternal love

You have outdone yourself with this one, Jack. This is...well, this is what true love is all about.
No dancing, here. Just quiet awe...

Angel, sweet Angel, thank you so much. My heart sings with your words to me this day.
Jack you really have a good knack in creating something from a mere ordinary and the piece become extra ordinary. This is sort of similar to the hummingbird that you once penned. I was very touched and impressed by that one. And here it is again. Showing your art, appreciation and love for creatures and God's creation. You are a gentle giant who loves people and poetry. I do appreciate that you are in one of my friends list. For all your beautiful pieces are all awe inspiring. I thank God for people like you .

A very short and simple poem with an outstandingly complex idea behind it. I feel that you have encapsulated the essence of love into three superb stanzas! I would quote my favorite line, but there are just too many to quote and I would do no justice by quoting only one. Overall, I loved it and it was extremely delightful to read. Thank you for penning such a brilliant piece!

I like your flight of fancy and protection in this piece. The nesting quality can pertain to the intimacy of love. It's just lovely.

Thank you Anne, I am so happy you enjoyed this one.
Nice, and unique, analogy here, Jack. The care with which a bird builds his nest is how we should prepare our hearts for love... Lovely!

Thank you so much my friend.
"With honor I will defend"- that will last the ages. Much better than instant-gratification culture, something lasting.

I was always entranced by birds building a nest. Such a beautiful act of faith... I loved this one.
