Weeping watercolors, forgotten dreams

Weeping watercolors, forgotten dreams

A Poem by Jack...

Weeping watercolors, forgotten dreams

There, beneath the rubble,

the ash and the debris,

you’ll find a faint image

looking something like me

As I too stand, peering into the pile

wondering, trying to make

some sense of the torment,

though this pain is imaginary…

for I have strode this wasteland,

walked these barbed wire foot paths

many times in the past

and what once was pain,

is now what I am

and the silhouette of what is seen

in a visionary echo of long ago tears,

repeating through thorn crested decisions

and a true lack of self confidence,

dances on the acidic breezes

that engulf my heart

and paint my frown

in weeping watercolors of my forgotten dreams

the pain builds us into what we are...poets.

and for me too, jack...the past has certainly given me that fragile ego...and a "true lack of confidence"---

quite wonderful this poem is.

the colors of life are running...getting out of focus.

I was in such a dark place long ago. This touched me, deeply.

This speaks to me on the deepest level imaginable. The poem itself just screams despair, which is driven home with some really vivid imagery. A library pick for sure. Great work Jack.

Thank you so very much Steve for visiting my world today and leaving such kind words for me.
All the sub conscience emotions which are invested in painting are tackled here in a superb manner, I am very impressed, this is a brilliant poem.

Thank you so very much my friend.
These lines touched my heart...

to be in pain and then accept it as what is and what will be is too sad for me to put into words.

Your talent never ceases to amaze me - to write something so sad and yet beautiful. Exceptional writing my friend.

Thanks so much Doc. Try painting with oils, tears don't have much affect on it.
Yeah...some mornings it just doesn't pay to get up out of the bed. Getting old sucks...

What good am I if nobody loves me any more????

I think we all have to go through these wastelands, my friend...we all have our tears, and they tend to gather in the deepest parts of our hearts...
Fantastic write, my talented friend.
Now, darn it, cheer up!!
