With your eyes of chocolate brown

Lift me

When I’ve fallen to the ground

Help me

When you know I’ve lost my way

Teach me

Of your love now everyday

 

Fill me

With your love so very warm

Save me

When I’m standing in a storm

Keep me

Ever closer to your side

Trust me

With the secrets you confide

 

Hear me

As I whisper in your ear

Find me

Ever wanting to be near

Tell me

You forever will be true

I think, I've read such kinda lyrics before by an other writer. Again a poem my eyes catch to read about love, how interesting is this that since the morning am consecutively reading pieces of love. Ah! This world's, I think, poured into the drops of melted love. Lol! Your good at writing!

Very nice and lyrical. Somehow it reminds this ole lady of some song that was popular in her salad days. Your poem is much better than the song, and could probably be matched to music fairly well. I really enjoyed the structure and the rhythm.

I like the consistency of the thought and the pattern. The sincerity of the speaker can be felt. However, I was hoping for an abrupt change, like a dramatic shift, or unexpected twist. It's not really a big deal but I think this piece would be better with that element. Also, the lines used are cliche. I've read many of your poems, Jack, and I love your writing style and wordcraft. This one somehow doesn't seem to "sink in my heart" like your other pieces. But that doesn't mean this poem sucks, okay? :) Your writings are awesome and we all know that. :)

Yeah, I know what you mean, at least as far as the cliche. This is candy box poetry I think, but I just started writing and this is what I ended up with. As far as a dramtic twist, often I bring that element into my work, but this time I must have been eating chocolate while writing. :) Thanks so much my friend.
