You've painted a stunning tableau with your words:
Wash o’er the valley in autumn’s delight
Tapestries woven of hues ever bright
Amber and ocher, crimson and green
Emblazon our view in your amethyst dream

Thank you so very much Anne. I imagine it is about time for you up there to experience just this.
Jack, you words make me a little nostalgic for the autumns of my youth in New Hampshire. We don't get much in the way of foliage down here in Orlando. Your friend in words, Pete

What a beautiful invitation to the most beautiful season of the year! There is nothing quite like it. That is my favorite time to visit back in Kansas, but I have to plead with Mother Nature also to allay the ol' Kansas wind so I can see the leaves. One fall when I went back, the weather one day was almost 100 degrees, the next day it rained and then the north wind blew down a Canadian clipper and she snowed. Leaves went quick that year.

How very beautiful. I am a big fan of autumn and your words have captured the spirit of the season so very well.
Scarlet laced orange o’ paint o’er the trees
Yellows and ambers so vibrant to please
I love these lines in particular - they bring so back so many memories of Vermont and its vibrant colors. Thanks for the memories, Jack.

There's that box of crayons again! Love the vibrant picture you have painted here, Jack - reading your poem will help me to be patient while waiting for the full-on blaze of color that is just around the corner.
