Long Beach II

By

Carol Haigh

Pale, the lonely shoreline

Pale, the lonely shoreline

Twisted branchless sighs

Long of places far away

At rest neath ashen skies

Prey of storms once passing

Felled of nature’s eye

Washed alone this sandy nook

Wave a sad goodbye

Thank you so much my sweet friend.
The rhyming flows easily. The sentiment is a bit melancholy. What lovely artwork inspired this poem, Jack. You captured the feeling so well. Lydi**

Thank you so much my sweet friend.
Did you write the poem for the picture, or did the artist paint the picture for your poem?
Seriously, the poem compliments the picture so perfectly, it is as if they were made for each other...
Beautiful job, as usual, Jack...

This reads so brilliantly, so beautifully...I can only imagine the praise an artist would feel with such a compliment of words!

Thank you so very much my new friend. Happy you enjoyed this.
I like the dual meanings of so many of the lines and the duality of the imagery in the artwork juxtaposed with the poem.

Thank you so very much Diana for your kind words today.
Jack, once again you have captured the escence of the imagery and the stillness of a shore line in winter.
Well done.
