Long Beach II

By

Carol Haigh

Pale, the lonely shoreline

Pale, the lonely shoreline

Twisted branchless sighs

Long of places far away

At rest neath ashen skies

Prey of storms once passing

Felled of nature’s eye

Washed alone this sandy nook

Wave a sad goodbye

Kinda makes me think of someone who is finally washed up and fed up with the rat-race!

A very creative, imaginative short poem !

Being the son of a fisherman and growing up on the shoreline, this one was especially meaningful to me. Well done my friend.

Thanks so much Mark.
A friend went to the shore this weekend to close up her beach house for the winter. She posted on facebook that it made her sad. Your poem has the same sad feel of goodbye, as the sun sets and the grey begins...

makes me a little soul sick for some reason. Its beautifully penned - but it makes me think of things I've lost....places I cannot be.

Marvelous write. Time and tide take everything and again they give back. it is a to and fro game.
