Undressing nature

Undressing nature

A Poem by Jack...
"

A rendezvous with nature

"

Undressing nature

Lovely pink roses on a stone wall
like buttons on a cotton dress
climbing to the top
opening when the light finds
so many interludes frolicking beyond the
painted iron gate

Swinging hinges sing the melody of love
as soft thorns pull at cloth canopies
of translucent chiffon and soft lace hue,
releasing vine clung threads,
knotted of perfume, watching as buttons
free fall to the lawn, like so many petals

You had me from the title Jack for it is a powerful thing to describe nature as a woman and a woman as nature undressing their beauty...Marvelous...:)

You are welcome...:)
Nice poetic play here Jack.
I have seen you flip metaphors like this before and I like it.
Instead of petals falling like buttons, you say that the observation is seen as buttons falling like petals.
I could see the first stanza play this way too if it had read something like, "A cotton dress laced with buttons like lovely pink roses climbing to the top of a stone wall"... then as written. It give a new feel to the poem when we flip these metaphors on each other.
You have taught me something valuable here Jack!
I so glad I was blessed to read this today.

This makes me think of the love I felt in a spring time garden a couple of years back. Dancing in the sweet scented grass. Lovely read!
