Night flight

Night flight

A Poem by Jack...
"

Waiting for you...

"

Fragile wings of stained glass rainbows

Endless your uncharted flight

Still I face the window staring

Praying you fly by this night

Longing in this darkest hour

Emptiness my heart does breathe

Forever more I shall be waiting

Eternally I shall believe

This one is short and concise but still includes a poetic flair for detail that sparks the minds eye and tugs at the sinewy heart strings. Great Pen Jack.

That's me. Thanks my friend.
it put the tiniest of aches in the back of my throat. Even though I tried to pass it off...there is that tangible sadness in this.

Thanks so much my sweet friend.
Waiting for someone to come might seem pointless and futile to some people. But what they don't understand that the only thing that truly keeps us going in life - is hope. If you don't have hope for something better, if you don't have hope that you will see your loved one again, then you might as well be dead inside. That is why those who believe, live. Another excellent poem, dear friend. :)

You are very welcome, Jack. I am enchanted with each of your lovely reviews as well. :)
That first line is out standing, Jackomantic -- I was never a huge believer in fairies or anything for some bizarre reason, I prefered to play with toy cars and Thomas the Tank Engine, lol. I was a weird child, still am I'm just crazier now.

Great job.

Lovely imagry as always..."Fragile wings of stained glass rainbows..."

Stephen King wrote a story called "Night Flight". It was made into a TV movie with what's-his-name in it... the son of that actor I like so much...

Ok Marie...I give up...who was it?
As a little girl, I was a firm believer in fairies. I even built little grass/stick houses for them all over the yards. This poem def takes me back to that almost breathless wonder. Thank you for sharing.
