This is a wonderful road to travel this morning.
I had a thought or two come to mind, but I could be mistaken or should just mind my own business... so I love the write... and will carry on through my morning. :)
These lines "and I see over the next sunrise a highway,
empty of detours and beckoning openly" full of promise and hope.
Well done, my friend!

Thanks so much my god friend. Now you have my curiosity peaked...what did you have come to mind?

Oh, nothing really. Just the mind wandering while I read, I suppose. :)

So, I guess the question is, should we take all poerty we read literally and assume (key word) that it is exactly the heart of the poet or should we take it with a grain of sand and not pin the theme on the poet? Hmmm, which one pertains to my poem here? Let's see, traveling along highway, peering ahead to what waits, seeking love just around the next turn and forgetting what is left behind...Hmmm, I wonder. :) Did it say what direction I was heading? Darn must've forgot that part.

"Routes become numbers and numbers become moments."
Moments we will cherish for the rest of our days.
This poem is filled with so much beauty and truth dear friend. You have exposed your heart, your deepest desires.
In the grand scheme of things, what is found chiseled in fate
proves that destiny is a destination of dreams, of hopes and
of love… . when that journey brings me to you
The perfect ending, one that leaves me smiling knowing the positivity you possess through your hopes and dreams. Well done, my friend.

"Routes become numbers and numbers become moments." This has struck me for its clever word play. Also, I love the positiveness if this poem, especially in the 7th stanza. You crafted a good end, too. Nice one, Jack... I would love to see you in your destination of dreams! :x

I talk to the US often and tend to be aware of your time. So often I get a response at 2-3 am (their time) somewhere. Most people in the US cannot fathom time zones, or that we are coming into spring and Santa coming when its 100+ degrees in summer is bit of a mind blower. The silly old b*****d still wears hot red stuff, you'd reckon he trade in for shorts, single and thongs? Sometimes the sleigh is hooked up to Kangaoroos, but it just looks bloody ridiculous.
