Place it on me...please

Place it on me...please

A Poem by Jack...
"

For a friend who is in pain

"

Place it on me...please

My heart cries

of this pain she feels

Draped in nightmare cloth,

heavy weave of iron bars and barbed wire jagged

Stealing her smile, breaking her will,

devouring happiness before it blooms

Tormenting tint on broken windows

and shards of anxious reaching

with extended arms that long to hold her,

much too short, but still trying…never giving up

Tears fall of distant eyes,

voices scream in angst of denial

For I stand here demanding this pain,

begging, pleading to the heavens…

place it on me, take me to my knees,

for it is there that I crumble anyway,

a massive heap on crushed posies

staring on me with sorrowed eyes

Pounding the asphalt, my palms bleed

blood mingles with gravel,

red clings to visions as worry wreaks my gut

To feel helpless… worthless

Cussing blinded metaphors

of withered understanding

Take my heart, for it knows not the pain

yet feels it in waves of despair…

crashing of desires and needs,

dreaming it with open eyes and blistered imagination

Hear my plea, take it from her

place it on me…please

Thanks so very much my freind.
So sad Jack. I can't say that I know the full effect of this situation, but I have and had friends who have succumbed to illness that was prolonged and painfully debilitating and can understand the voice of your piece. Harsh but well done.

Thanks so much Astro. I hope you never know the full effect.
The pure agonizing pain in this poem is breath taking. I understand that pain comes in so many bloody packages. The anguish in your words have left me breathless and feeling your pain, and remembering my own.
Amazing work, once again.

Thank you so very much Tammy. I hope so to.
There is so much pain throughout the piece perhaps it can be dispersed by this strong and powerful poem. This is a well of deep emotion; may it overflow with happiness in the near future.

Thank you so very much Anne.
The qualities of true friendship are laced throughout this poem, Jack. To want to help so desperately that we wish their suffering and pain be transported to us, it is a sacrifice that many people would not offer - even to their friends. You feel deeply, Jack. Your friendship is cherished by many here, and I am sure this dedication is felt and well received by the intended. Well done!

Thank you so very much my good friend.
This is what true friendship is all about...it's like a test in a way...when a friend in need triggers such a plea for personal sacrifice, that's when you know it is a friendship worth preserving for life...it may feel like a piece of blinded metaphors, but there is no mistaking the raw pain and unabashed devotion in these words...whoever reads this will most certainly wish for the best for both of you, and I'm sure your friend will be touched to the core by the magnitude of your despair...this is an amazing piece my friend.
