Lost to the horizon’s constant appetite
for all that this sky above may hold
Thin and straight, never-ending, swallowing the beauty
that waits for us as we look up
Lovely and lonely and resolute. and that ending....my.
I don't look up much - I avoid the light - at least the broiler here in the high desert but the sunsets are appealing to me...
Thought this piece spoke volumes

Thank you so very much Tammy. Your kind words are always appreciated my friend,
another beautiful love poem from you...this one makes me wonder...separation causing longing...or is the loved one deceased and it is the agony of loss depicted here.
either way...excellent write, Jack.

Thanks so much Jacob. I guess it can be either way you want it to be.
Yes, this one, I read yesterday already and I really loved it, for (well you know how I am connected to the moon and sun on my own way). This was so inspiring too. It was sad, but there is difference in a real sad poem, that often tells anger and hurt in it, then this one, for I found so much beauty in it... the way you pick up also those little important things, in real life, by observing is fantastic!
"I have come to determine
one night sitting on the front porch
counting fireflies and missing you,"
Here you let us see, that connection through even fireflies
can be true. For they dance together, and the person in this write
is alone, and misses his other half. (that's poetry) that's truly poetry
And I can't say it enough, you're a hell of a writer :D
Great poem, with all elements in it... you've said it all my friend.

Too much sadness for me to read Jack along with the great imagery that is so lovely . I hope things will change and the beloved will be back in your life ...Splendid ...:)
Not much to tell about me, I am just Jack, I am a poet, a writer, a musician, a painter, a builder and a dreamer. I live in south Texas but am originally from New Jersey and miss it more and more all .. more..
