I have been accussed of being everyone on this site I think at one time or the other and I have now been called a posuer, (more than one indentity on WC). Unfortunately I am only me, just Jack.

I’d choose a different name than…

 

 

Can you tell me who I’d be

If like you say, I am not me

I see myself most everyday

With still the same face on display

 

My picture on this site is real

I have no secrets to conceal

Even as the insults mount

You’ll never find a closed account

 

You think I sometimes go by Red

Or Frieda, that is what you said

John McFadyen, there’s a name

Though I am not one and the same

 

Rita, Angel, Icelandicblue

You point the finger, say, “They’re you”

So many people I could be

But sad to say I’m only me

 

I think you’ll find, I am a man

Not Holly Mason, Carolann

Noodlehead or Lily Mae

Or any other name you say

 

Keith or Sami, Thomas too

And now there’s Dean, that’s something new

Eglantine, oh yes Marie

None of these fine folks are me

 

Tammy, Kristin, Elisa L.

Makes me wonder, what the hell

All fine poets, I must say

Veronica,  and Girl Friday

 

Que Sera Sera, Constance Payne

Still you’ll find Jack is my name

Angi, Astro, Rhythm and Blues

They’re not me, perhaps they’re you

 

Aurora, Ken or David Scott

You say they’re me, I say they’re not

Then there’s Baby Ricochet

Still not me, you’ll hear me say

 

I Have a Voice, Kimmer, Quill

Keely Jane, now Doug or Jill

Insanity, Boy of the Red

Jacob's name I think you've said

 

Though everyone you seem to name

Are all my friends here just the same

Robbie, Emma, Dhaye and Rose

Add more names, my friend list grows

 

So let me say in words so true

I’m only me, I am not you

And if I was (said with a grin)

I’d choose a different name than…

Jeez - I miss the antics again! Lol... Love the way you've put this little topic to rhyme! I don't know about anyone else, but it is very difficult to hide one's style. You are unique, my friend. I don't think you could pull off being a poser, even if you wanted to. I'm sure there are many on the site. I don't read a lot of people so who knows... I could be reviewing the same person and wouldn't know it. Can I just ask... Who cares anyway? Unless you're chatting and misrepresenting yourself on another level (personal or emotional attachment) other than reading and reviewing... I don't know if there's any harm being done. IMHO...

I just don't get the nastiness that can fly out of peoples mouth's. Obviously something flew out of someone's mouth to prompt such a poem, even if it is in jest. I say, be you! I understand and you are very observant...I would classify this as sarcasm mixed with a bit of anger over the constant accusations. Sometimes it just gets to be so much that you have to find a way to laugh at it so it doesn't completely tear you up. Humor or sarcasm has always been used as a deflector for me.
