with platinum round its wings,

diamonds for its body,

would this your smile bring

 

The faintest hint of blue to see

in stones aqua marine

Would you keep it with you always

and somehow think of me

 

If I put it on a silver chain

that glistened like a star

Would you wear it every day

no matter where you are

 

Would it make you happy,

till all your days were through

If I fashioned you a butterfly…

and sent it off to you
