Oh woe is me, I’m crying

Dark clouds overhead

Why does nobody like me

Was it something that I said

 

The world is out to get me

Drag me through the mud

Drop me from the balcony

Landing with a thud

 

I want you to feel sorry

Be sad because I am

Oh woe is me, I’m crying

Please won’t you be my friend

 

NEWS FLASH…We interrupt this poem for a breaking news story… There is too much, “Woe is me” on the WC...Conspiracy theorists are having a field day with the rampant expressions of… “everyone is out to get me” or “they are all ganging up on me, nobody loves me” and the bleeding hearts are feeding on … “I didn’t do anything wrong” or “It was all someone else’s fault, I’m the innocent one here”…  

We will keep you updated on any new developments…wait…yes…this just in, a happy poet is writing now, it seems the “woe is me” theme is being pushed to the side and happiness is shining through. Stay tuned right here for more on this exciting story.

The sun is shining bright

I’ve found someone who loves

And everything is right

 

The world is but my garden

Each bloom that I do see

Does radiate in beauty

When she is here with me

Nicely done, Jack. I know that things get heavy here at the cafe from time to time and its burdensome. Fo r those writers who like you are usually positive - its frustrating to be exposed to drama and for writers like me - who are...well...grumpy - it just makes the grumpy grow teeth. Zahra, I have been writing a lot of sad and broken hearted poems lately and this poem was making fun of myself. It was my way of telling myself to chill out and write happy stuff again. Just having a little fun at my own expense. Thank you for your comments.

I tend to swing past the "woeful" rants (except my own of course...) and ignore. Sometimes ignorance is bliss! ;-)
The poem is fantasic - unfortunately usually those that need to "read and heed" don't get it. On the cafe?? I don't know, I don't stick around here enough to get caught up in the woe and misery. I rely on RRs to connect mostly, and will swing by those that don't send them when I am not flitting about and have time to search :)

Of course, I am a grandma, so I've seen a lot of cartoons...you may not have seen the one I'm talking about.

It seems like someone is a hypocrite or changes like the weather in this poem . There are many out there jack with extreme emotional tendencies and some like to take advantage of others goodness or naivety...I have a friend I meet at SB and he is like that . Conspiracy theorist without proof or reason...A very good poem...:)
