Sail on

Sail on

A Poem by Jack...
"

Peaceful, the sea

"

Sail on

Of light at play…day’s end, to cease

Now mirrored of a rippled sea

Casting long in shadowed dreams

A drifting silhouette…at peace

Sail on, sail on,

currents feed this destined course

Arcs, spun gold…on dance card wings

Lemon dust, the sifted sound

Framed of flowing tangerine

Silence sings…as truth is found

Sail on, sail on,

captured breezes…quiet source

Abstract waves…in curtained sweep

Drape this ocean’s fantasy

Melodic so the depth to breathe

Champagne tints the tapestry

Sail on, sail on,

horizon’s beckoned rendezvous

Citrine jeweled on zephyr’s flight

Calmly cools in twilight feel

Motions quell the rhythm’d night

Beliefs this sun shall soon conceal

Sail on, sail on,

as daylight disappears from view

Thank you sir
Nothing like the open water to settle the soul. Gorgeous picture to accompany your lovely write.

I love sailing! Learned ages ago in Southern Cali. Weekends on the boat with dear friends. Ocean waves and control of the winds within your sails. Funny how open waters ground the spirit...

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time! It seems your daughter's wedding and the whole experience was a wonderful success.

My pleasure...:)
Gold, lemon, tangerine, champagne, citrine... Here's Jack's giant box of crayolas, spilling magnificently onto the page... I really love what you do with color images in your poems!

Oh, and that photo is breathtaking!
Spectacular photo and the poetry sails along in it's essence, you really captured the feel of that magnificent photograph. This was my favorite pic, aside from the one of you and your daughter of course, just breathtaking Jack, as always.
