Sail on

Sail on

A Poem by Jack...
"

Peaceful, the sea

"

Sail on

Of light at play…day’s end, to cease

Now mirrored of a rippled sea

Casting long in shadowed dreams

A drifting silhouette…at peace

Sail on, sail on,

currents feed this destined course

Arcs, spun gold…on dance card wings

Lemon dust, the sifted sound

Framed of flowing tangerine

Silence sings…as truth is found

Sail on, sail on,

captured breezes…quiet source

Abstract waves…in curtained sweep

Drape this ocean’s fantasy

Melodic so the depth to breathe

Champagne tints the tapestry

Sail on, sail on,

horizon’s beckoned rendezvous

Citrine jeweled on zephyr’s flight

Calmly cools in twilight feel

Motions quell the rhythm’d night

Beliefs this sun shall soon conceal

Sail on, sail on,

as daylight disappears from view

Any time...:)...........................
You are lucky to live in such a beautiful place, the italics to regular fonts give a chorus verse effect, which makes it read more like a song, which I think would be a hit Jack - monumental stuff,

"Citrine jeweled on zephyr’s flight" is a particularly good line

Cheers Leigh

love the 'poem within a poem' in this piece as always your use of the ocean and of color build such a strong poem.

Thanks Tammy. The photo inspired me.
What struck me most about this one Jack is the colorful language that you employed here more than the impact of an overall idea. This section was great,
"Arcs, spun gold…on dance card wings
Lemon dust, the sifted sound
Framed of flowing tangerine
Silence sings…as truth is found"

a fine image.

Not only are you an excellent photographer, but a GREAT poet as well!!!! This poem is extremely sophisticated- it's structure is well thought out, the words chosen exude the feeling of the subject and create a tone that is carried throughout. I think that this is a master piece and a favorite of mine!!!!!!! Thank you so much for writing this and sharing!!!!!
