(some snakes know better)A Poem by Jack...Molting in a yard near you
(some snakes know better) Insults carve their existence in the minds of the caring… (If even they show…only for show) Standing firm in hiding from a truth they found the longest time ago… (Cant’ hide from what is real) Innocence proclaimed as barbs are flung in hidden corners, lies are programmed via satellite and phony conversations… Two steps back << Fingers point in fantasy accounted accusations and tongues wag as if the water dish is low… (Lap dogs follow suit) Slashed tires find the parking lot is not as level as promised, for the playing field sits mute, lines are drawn, faded and reapplied As the face re-shows under a different name that is exactly the same but the words are bigger, more educated, pocket dictionaries must have been on sale… (blue lights flashing…not always the cops if you’re at Kmart) Drained, painted a traitor or worse…someone’s friend, placed in the microwave, my face pressed against the patterned glass A metal belt buckle sparks before it strikes me, right across the heart… (another beating) organ of organic origin Cast aside you defaming words, suck your mouth dry, bind your lips together with red shoe strings (To harness your wicked smile) Plant your gardens of despise, thorny roses flourish in a field of hate (Insecticides not working…you’re still here) Cry your woes upon the ears now hanging on your every world, feed the souls of lost and lonely children Spread your wings for this might be it (all she wrote) and wave goodbye as I slither out the door (some snakes know better) © 2013 Jack...Author's Note
