"Like watching paint dry..."

"Like watching paint dry..."

A Poem by Jack...
"

The waiting is the hardest part

"

“Like watching paint dry...”

Layers upon layers,

flaking residue...

scraping at the inner walls of my heart,

priming the ruins of my disassembled dreams while

masking off all hope of bleeding out or bleeding on

“Dare I bleed in the color of missing you?”

Scratches filled in with crayon,

vacant hues...

only on or outside of the lines of love

Woeful stick figures dancing to a lonely song,

played by the empty roller lashed to my hand

“Would you dare touch my handprints....smear them?”

Minutes take hours to pass, but who cares,

Que Sera Sera...

the old Zenith finds Doris Day happy,

nice someone can be

stirring a smile within a gallon of semi-(g)loss

“Why is the sale brand in barren tones?”

I cringe at the thought of another moment in this position,

base boards...

bent over and touching up,

flat lining without an edge,

waiting for your touch, your tinted smile...waiting your approval

“Like watching paint dry...”

Painting the eves on the house Jack? OK this is brilliant. The timing and metaphor are superb.
I pause and think to myself "is he really painting and that is from where this inspiration has risen"?"
I see you bent paining the baseboards , oh how i hate the baseboards and door jams. "why is the ""sale"' brand in barren shades" We just painted the kitchen .. but somehow I suddenly find myself lost for words in the sadness of a shade of paint. "Dare I bleed the color of missing you?" applauds..
a masterpiece is born in the shade of Jack... xo

The cafe certainly got ME off my backside and onto the keyboard That's for sure
It shows that the old addage can be beautiful. I get the impression that one's art is not appreciated by one's loved one's. Too many one's there.

I really like the creativity that went into this one. From the choice of font, to the actual prose, to the whole design. Everything is a true work of art. That hardest part about anything is waiting. But the hardest part about love or loss is truly waiting. Its stifling, like watching paint dry. Very well done.

Thank you so much Kristin. I really enjoy your comments on my poems, but you are too kind to me.
This was so amazingly creative Jack. To compare life to paint is definitely a burst of brilliant creativity. The flow was wonderful and your comparisons and descriptions were so well thought out. It made the piece stand out and capture your readers attention. Well done!
