What a wonderful analogy. And even if the ripples do disappear, it's only the ones you can see with your eyes - says nothing about what still moves under the surface. :)
Are you reading my mind again? I am a rippled abundance at the moment, how clever Jack, this one resonates and will continue to whirl long after the page is closed....pondering.

resonant and melancholy. What this reminds me of though is not the tiny ripple - but the ripple caused by an earthquake. By the time a ripple caused by plate tectonic activity reaches a shoreline - it takes out everything. Yes - your words could be a ripple - or they could galvanize enough power to change the very landscape. I like a poem that makes me think. This did.
I enjoyed the philosophy here Jack.
I think we all get unilateral in our thinking from time to time and forget that our lives, our words and actions have far reaching affect in directions we could not see even if we has the foresight to consider.
Yes, you are in each ripple, but I think we are more often the stone that was dropped.
Great job.
"...Only to disappear with little importance..." That may be how we feel, that our actions are insignificant, but there may be an impact that we never know. Tossing that pebble is a way that we just trust the Universe to take it, and the ripples, where it will. Great poem, Jack.
