The Perfect Place

The Perfect Place

A Poem by Jack...
"

My idea of the perfect place

"

The Perfect Place

A cool and whispered morning breeze takes my mind away

To a place where maple trees provide the perfect shade

Refreshing like a valley stream, a peaceful easy pace

Cutting through the country side a journey long to trace

A hammock so inviting stretched between two perfect trees

The music of the birds combined with buzzing honey bees

The softest grass beneath your toes that you have ever seen

A perfect summer day as in each other we believe

The sky a magic shade of blue like painted there by hand

Clouds so meek and wispy create shadows on the land

Nothing much to do about the troubles of the day

Place your cares aside for now and leave them where they lay

Napping as we swing together cushioned by the air

Gracefully we sift along with only love to share

A pillow made of silk will sit beneath our sleeping heads

And anything that might create confusion leaves instead

Roses in the garden seem to smile at our pace

The sun it peeks between the leaves so warm upon our face

A caterpillar slowly makes his way across the grass

Within our private heaven as we watch the day flow past

A lazy Sunday afternoon, such a sense of peace

The quiet is the furthest point that either one can reach

For in the shade the coolness breathes as time it slips away

The setting sun is soon to come; the spirit of the day

Comfort found within my arms as only offered you

We watch the glow descend to earth with nothing else to do

Dusk does touch us as we rest in shades of matted grey

Just close your eyes and lay with me and we will fly away

The dreams that we have painted sit adorned within the scene

Precious moments shared with you are everything they seem

Watching you just lying there a smile on your face

Constantly reminds that this is the perfect place

Thank you so much sweet Sera. Happy you enjoyed it.
A beautiful illustration but it begs the question...is it really the perfect place, or is she the perfect woman? :) Seems that she makes the place, however beautiful it may be, just by being there with you.

The perfect place to unload all our cares and embrace the breeze hopefully with the one we lover swinging on a hammock in tropical paradises leaving this time sensitive world behind and all their problems in the past. A beautiful write as always...:)

My pleasure.Any time...:)
Such a lovely place you have illustrated, Jack! "Nothing much to do about the troubles of the day..." Yes, troubles should not touch a place such as this, where love and beauty are the entry passes. Beautiful write!
