Because of you

Because of you

A Poem by Jack...
"

just because

"

Because of You

Because of you

I learned to live

I learned to breathe

I learned to give

I learned to write

I learned to read

I learned to want

I learned to need

I learned to sing

I learned to talk

I learned to dance

I learned to walk

I learned to look

I learned to know

I learned to listen

I learned to grow

I learned to dream

I learned to care

I learned to hear

I learned to share

I learned to gain

I learned to teach

I learned to find

I learned to reach

I learned to smile

I learned to grin

I learned to love

All over again

Thank you sir
Mother's day is only a few days away. Tomorrow is the 4th anniversary of my dad's passing. So today I am thinking about both of my parents - and its a struggle all the way around. The poem - so simple and light and full of truth. It is how it should be....yes. I'll stop right there....

Tammy, I know how you feel...hope it help you smile a bit.
I wonder why everyone is assuming this to be written for your mother, why not your father ?
We're seriously nothing without 'em. They've always done so much for us, they've always been amazing teachers, the first teachers we come across. Well this poem is very simple and very clear, like to-the-point. Has a nice flow. Good job! Keep writing!

You're welcome. :)
Sounds like a nice tribute to Mom, or a mentor. Simple, clear message that rings truth.

Very easy to read, the repetitive nature releases the searching for meaning, well done, good read.

Thanks Thomas. I appreciate it.
Very simple structure and very different from your other style. I liked it though. For some reason the only problem I had was the side of each line did not line up. Strong and worth reading for sure.
