Thank you very much kind Sir. It is great praise coming from as gifted a poet as you.
You have chosen an astounding metaphor to be the central figure in your poem. And you have made lovely use of its various facets to describe the nuances of love. As such, many of the lines and phrases are uniquely creative; "dead bolt delusions", "brass pins of endless dreams" and "dull and waiting for the sheen of you", to name a few, not to mention the titular "peep hole shadows".
The concluding lines are beautiful too. They are also counter-intuitive.
"creating a passage
so that I may
walk so deeply
into you"
Since you're the door here, I'd have expected you to carve a passage for your love to walk deeply into you, rather than the other way round. So I am quite intrigued by your phrasing.
Thank you for a lovely poem, Jack! :)

It does present a sort of cunundrum, but then again it is poetry. perhaps I am not so much the door, but more of the shadow.

This piece is such a hopeful bright spot and filled with lovely thoughts to lift; with changes on the horizon.
"A portal of desperate
desires and relinquished
pain, for the light..."
Such a wonderful way to start my day.
