It's better to be kind

It's better to be kind

A Poem by Jack...
"

Sadness over yesterday's attack

"

It’s better to be kind

by jack

Crosswinds fuel my kindred soul

Flashes of the past

Lost of all I can’t control

Nothing seems to last

What was good has stood its ground

Flaming arrows tipped

Wincing at the awful sound

Tethered more than ripped

Drinking of the fruited vine

Honeysuckle tea

Caught between the face of time

Ever running free

Standing far behind the crowd

Falling in the square

Shouting in a voice that’s loud

How can this be fair

When the sun does find our face

And flowers tend to grow

Every step we now retrace

You’d think that we would know

Nature beats a woven path

Winding through the hills

Think about the aftermath

In amongst the thrills

Find these words that I do scrawl

Chiseled in the stone

Here along these painted walls

Coming to atone

Find your heart and make it breathe

The crosswinds you do find

Then in course you will believe

It’s better to be kind

No sympathy or kindness left in the human psyche. Gone are the days of love thy neighbor. World filled with hatred for all living things or at least it seems to be heading in that direction. Distressing thought.

LOVE this very much so; as I do the others I have read so far. Rhymes really well. What a sad day this was and still is. I am honored to say your one of the best so far.

Anytime. :o)
' Drinking of the fruited vine ~ Honeysuckle tea ~ Caught between the face of time ~ Ever running free '.. .. Such beautiful words, an enormous veil of calm.

Brits were and are horrified at what happened, our media was full of it, still is whatever our prime now. We have our giant London marathon coming up, and, making every effort to stand firm, not be beaten by such atrocious action.

Strangely and wonderfully, your writing is remarkably calm, BUT simmering beneath is is a firm request for calm and show respect to humanity, whatever age or colour, gender or creed.

Thank you so much for lighting a candle in the dark. Respect to your people.

A longtime childhood friend was running her first Boston Marathon yesterday so this piece hit very close to home. And with your permission I'd love to share it with her. I think its a beautiful tribute to all. Another senseless and devastating tragedy, through your words may we find peace and comfort, and a desire to just be kind. Thanks for sharing Jack.

You are welcome dear kind friend...:)
This is excellent poetry and has all the elements of a brilliant work of poetic art. The lines are remarkably eloquent in rhyme and rhythm, substance and meaning deeply profound, exceptional style and very smooth flow. The images presented, while tragic and sad, are vivid and touching, excites thought and reflection from a reader like me. The title and the last line connect superbly to effect unity of the poem's theme.

Thank you dear Jack for your compassion, and speaking out the words I never can, when such things happen...my thoughts are with the victims, and those who live this tragedy, the world is getting too cruel Jack... I'm listening here.

Your words resonate in my heart... sorrow is felt, and I feel the need to be silent, for those who suffered and are still suffering this tragedy. Thank you for sharing your heartfelt words. ~xo~
