Aftermath

Aftermath

A Poem by Jack...
"

What is left but loneliness?

"

Aftermath

by jack

The silent sun

was bright this day,

my mind

was in a fog

Its brilliant light upon the world

did send

So beautiful

this morning light,

but deep

inside my heart

The pain of losing love

comes once again

I did the best

that I could do,

though once again

I see

I’m left to cry these tears of

constant fall

This circle of

disparity,

I seem to

wander in

Does follow me now

everywhere I go

My eyes are open,

I can’t see

As no one is

around

I’ve no direction on this

followed path

Crumbling,

my world it does

The loudest awful

sound

Now here I stand within its

aftermath

Such a tremendous despair running throughout. The emptiness is felt - real. Wonderful writing to bring that emotion full face for your reader.

And it is always a pleasure to read you, Jack!
This paints a very desolate picture. It radiates with a hollowness that is palpable.

This circle of

disparity,

I seem to

wander in

the loneliness we feel sometimes just engulfs us, depressing it comes like a shade of darkness, but not always is it too awful for some, for in solitude and in solitude only do we find our true selves, the truth about us being alive.
great poem

:)
The sounds of loneliness are loud indeed, the aftermath of loss a staggering silence that you've beseeched your lovely words upon and tied it up in one sweet bow of your poetry.

I'm not sure how sturdy the human heart is after all, this depicted that in a beautiful yet realistic light.

Thanks so much. Lomeliness is a snare that tightens around you the longer it is allowed to linger.
