Softly Encased in a Dream

by jack

The bay cast its ripples o’ cool breath of sea

Glistening sun rays a’ dance

Forming o’er breezes that play ever free

Conjuring pure felt romance

Mist on the marshes, somber its haze

Silent it lingers above

Days of ago on a rainbow of grays

Seeming O’ cast by this love

Calmness of morning, pleasant the view

Thoughts find the wandering tone

Set by the seaside of overcast hue

Here you shall not feel alone

Sweet desperation doth temper the heart

Bound by your fortune’s desire

Longing affection does brings this a’ start

Felt as your fingers require

O’ but a touch, a moment to share

Countless the minutes they soar

Emptiness crowds this, your lone thoroughfare

All for the one you adore

Endless the questions, a row at a time

Opinions of differing flow

Fond destinations your heart it does find

Only the answers you know

Firm concentration, voices inside

Point to the facts of the day

No use defining the reasons to hide

Set forth in passion’s array

You feel the love, nary a doubt

Truth pulls the curtain sincere

Grab every fear, to the wind cast about

Senses become crystal clear

Glorious sights as the day does arrive

Grasses sway cold winds adrift

Wetlands of bustling cheer so alive

Spirits, the view gives a lift

Bring to this vision the heart of this man

Might it enhance what you see

Glance to your left, does your heart understand

Isn’t this where he should be

Life is so fleeting, blink of an eye

A peek in the mirror it’s gone

Reflections now lost to the roadway so high

Where you have been all along

This day is brand new, hop on aboard

Dress the occasion so nice

Follow your dream as the time does afford

Taking the steps which entice

Waiting for you is the truth of his love

Pure as the white driven snow

Affection like mist that does gather above

A steady midday afterglow

Precious the jewel that he finds in your eyes

Yours is his happiness true

Ever so patient for written replies

Truth his devotion to you

As you proceed, twilight it does fall

Proud of the night so serene

Still onward travels with nothing at all

Softly encased in a dream

Follow your heart as it recalls the path

Straight to his arms ever strong

Love shall be yours in a fond aftermath

Nothing so good can be wrong

Open your heart, inviting him in

Take what you feel is your right

Prepare for this love it is time to begin

Your dream will come true on this night

This poem is the stuff of lovely dreams and joyful fantasies! I close my eyes and just walk into his arms...to love forever! True love is the only truth and nature comes out in all its beauty and glory to nurture it whenever it happens!

Thank you so much Dear Divya for you always kind and flattering words.

This is one of those writes that melts the soul and serenades the heart in the soft whispers of it's beautiful sway.............your imagery is heavenly, and the echoes of the soul so delicately interwoven into each verse mesmserises from the first breaths through to the last....it is moments such as these that anchor us to every footprint we leave behind in this journey of life...they remind us of the beauty that we have known along the pages of yesterday, and awaken us to embrace them with a deeper appreciation as we travel into the realms of tomorrow..... so beautiful Jack....thank you for sharing :)

This is a totally ephemeral experience. Your words bring the writer to such heights.

Thank you so much
I loved the feel of this poem. I felt "sofly encased in a dream". I only have one word to pick on and it may just be me, but i would use the singular of "dreams" in the last line. She is deeper than for one night to answer all her dreams. I would consider *Your dream will come true on this night*
Take it or leave it. Again, I enjoyed the feel and thank you for this dreamy poem.
