to turn back

time

I’d pick you,

yesterday

to see what we could find

 

Perhaps a wondrous setting

somewhere like Belize

Sandy beaches,

tropical

if this

your mind would ease

 

Stepping through a portal

looking in reverse,

penning something

quickly

in the form

of verse

 

Over-pack your luggage,

forward all your mail

You will find

an island waits…

Together

we will sail

 

If I could only find a way

to give the clock a spin

Set it back,

by just a day,

we’ll do it all

again

Today my friends in class were having a laugh at the fact that I can never stop talking, yet with your poetry you have finally managed to halt the ebb of words, for even though I can say many great and wonderful things, they would not do this justice.
