The wind...my friend

The wind...my friend

A Poem by Jack...
"

Windy days

"

The wind…my friend

By jack

The wind, my friend

It does not dream

But floats along

On silent stream

It does not breathe

Nor cast a will

Yet carries winter’s

Mighty chill

The wind, my friend

Of scent encased

In autumn leaves

O’er fields are chased

Neath clouded sky

Of sapphire blue

To touch the very

Heart of you

The wind, my friend

It does not speak

Yet howls at night

In constant speed

So blustery

Or calm as spring

Aromas fill

On fluttered wing

The wind, my friend

In search of none

Yet who it finds

May be the one

Of dust dispersed

And whistles blend

To flow with us

Now once again

The wind…my friend

The wind does bring change and as I read this it made me think, like all things and events, it all depends on how we receive it.
Nice work.

The wind does a great many things. It can calm us on a warm spring day, cool us on a hot summer night, it can scream during a storm or howl with its winter bluster. I love all the details of this piece. This is a great piece.

This is lovely - great flow - and beautiful imagery

"Where the wind blows, babe
You can bet I’ll be ridin' high with it
Holding on for my dear life
Just like I always did"

Absolutely gorgeous. The flow is spot on, just drips of the tongue, begs to be spoken aloud. Great rhythm. Love it!

Yes, I heard the wind last...
I'll write something about it, of course, but not poetry like yours.

I love windy days. There are a lot of them in the desert. On still nights, I can't even sleep. Without the howling from my window, it is too quiet. I think you have done a fine job capturing that feeling I have for the wind. Nicely done, Jack.

A lovely poem, Jack. I'm not big on rhyme, but this doesn't jar ... in fact, if I read through the rhyme and short lines, it has pleasant cadence. I like your imagery, especially, "of scent encased in autumn leaves". I would, however, be careful about "to touch the very heart of you." That runs the risk of sounding too hackneyed, something you might hear in a commercial. It struck me the first time I read it through, but nothing else seemed particularly cliche. It didn't bother me enough to hamper my enjoyment of your verse.
