Staring up By jack We see ripples in the sky Of rose bud hips and saffron pie Mountains carved of blessings shown On avenues that stand alone Cotton threaded evenings stare Spun with love and open air Flowing near the velvet sun Twisting candy coated fun Elephants with diamond smiles Kaleidoscopic crocodiles Pirate ships with popcorn sails Riding on the backs of whales Trumpets in a soft embrace A long forgotten laughing face An evil wizard casting spells Santa Claus with jingle bells A locomotive full of steam Floating down a soapy stream Rocket ships in underwear Grandma’s wooden rocking chair A Ferris wheel of bursting glow Atop a sled upon the snow Once again the pictures change As what we see is rearranged So many different things we see Lying here, just you and me Far from all the noisy crowds Staring up at floating clouds Pointing out the shapes we find Pictures formed within our minds There’s nothing else I’d rather do Than stare up at the clouds with you © 2013 Jack...Author's Note
