Wow. Just wow.
Some poems make you silent, they make you think for long, others awe you, but rare are those which leave you speechless, for they take a bit of thought and awe and wrap it in strong, mighty yet graceful words and they present themselves to the reader, and they challenge them with all their essence to deny the beauty of the words and meanings conveyed, the sadness, which is enthralling in its subtlety yet undeniably there, the power, which hums from within the verses and through the reader. Ah! What a thing you have created good sir! You have my greatest respect and admiration. I look forward to reading more poems of this quality from you.

Haha, I said good morning, I had to say good night
Such perspective in the space between, charcoal lines rubbed softly...what a phenomenal vision and voice you've unleashed into this..... each breath, tangled with the shadow of ache, and the closing verse captures the footprints of the heart's journey with such truism :)

Thank you so much Dear Angel, Your kind words touch me generously.
This was different for you, filled with a lot of suffering and penance here, I thought at first it was about religion but I think it's the religion we have and follow in our heart/self love/loathing, that imprints our own barriers and keeps us from our own truth.

Yeah, I was a little off this day and had had a few bad turns in a row. Thank you so much Frieda
A great exploration in human suffering. Sometimes I think psychological pain is truly neurological, is what we think real Jack? So much of well-being is indeed subjective and based on perception, expectations and relationships with biological priming that we have inherted through evolution and are socially conditioned by our environments.
It is weird that there is so much effort in life and it doesn't always come to much...it was hard for me to fully read this poem and grasp each line in the repetition of the weight.

Actually Michael, I just close me eyes and become something or someone else for a time, though often that someone else is still me once I look inside.

Michael, I am a songwriter and to me there is no greater thrill than seeing what I have written become a song, I write the lyrics and the music but still it is not a song until I can hear it become what my mind heard. The same goes for poetry in a sense, to write it is one thing, but to place it out for others to see and find that your meaning was understood to me completes the poem. The truth is, we don't write peotry so that it can sit in some notebook somewhere, but so others can experience our thoughts and ideas with us. I have to run now, but let's you and I discuss this at another time.
Such a spiritual heartfelt pleading felt to my bones. The aching need to realize forgiveness, accept self love in spite of our frailty and human condition, and see hope in the face of adversity. An extremely compelling poem. My heart aches knowing there are others that scream this same silent plea. You've given them a voice with a compelling wordsmith's touch. I can only surmise your person from what I've read of your work and from you here. If ever there was a man worthy of love, it is you, Jack. I hope your spirit continues to be lifted up!

You have a kind heart, that is evident. And you do make us smile :)
