LongingA Poem by Jack...Missing someone hurts
Longing My life is but an empty shell The features sure to see A lonely living breathing hell Since you’re not here with me Cold and damp, as so it is A voided grayish view Lost between the now and then Longing but for you Branded with an hourglass The sands of time so slow Every waking minute since My heart it wants you so Stairways built to nowhere Curved and out of sight Climbing to the lowest point I need you here tonight Off beyond the atmosphere A dark and barren place I find it hard to breathe out here Your love I can’t replace Sitting in the empty chair My feet don’t reach the ground Swinging as if made of stone Outside the lost and found Looking to the heavens For your smile to see Tired of the loneliness I need you here with me The temperature is dropping Stars refuse to shine A vast and empty atmosphere Waiting for the time Till you are in my arms for good I’ve waited patiently Praying that your love will come Down here and comfort me Slippery the sidewalks Ice upon the bridge Snow as deep as mountains high Fog upon the ridge Still my heart it wanders Searching for the place When my eyes will once again Peer upon your face I shall keep on waiting I will persevere Till the morning does arise Wishing you were here © 2013 Jack...Author's Note
