Remote Location

By Jack Ivey

This place was perfect and the price extremely reasonable for this neighborhood. It was nicely furnished and the 60" flat panel hung like a trophy on the wall.

Tired from moving, Frank opened a beer and sat back to watch some tube. The problem, he couldn't find the remote. Up and down he moved all night, changing channels, correcting the volume, until he was completely worn out.

"This is crazy," he said picking up the phone.

His landlord responded, "Remotes are strictly forbidden because of government testing and wave lengths in the area."

Frank promptly moved out the next day.

The 60" flat screen was reason enough to move in. No remote becomes my irrational frenzy. I should have known the government would restrict our remote use. I think your landlord might have shared news of the remote reverse revolution. This reads nicely. Smooth flow and pleasant cruising right up to the revelation. He's going to be beyond completely worn out. I like the title too. Clever. Nice write.

Thank you Jack for this wonderful write for my contest! Much enjoyed the story which reminded me of my brother, who after moving into a beautiful home in a bit of a valley found that he was the ONLY one in the neighbourhood who could not get reception for T.V.It has now been fixed much to his relief!
