On this day

On this day

A Poem by Jack...
"

Beauty surrounds us

"

On this day

By Jack Ivey

Brought to life, while standing in a meadow

Catch a breeze within your flowing hair

Hear the joy of golden days before us

Take my hand and I will take you there

Touch the sky of azure placed aroma

Feel the grass a’ mingle through your toes

Laugh a while and smile at all you witness

Of this dream, a garden shower glows

Linger on of sunny blessings flowing

Round and round about your eyes to see

Filtered beams of saffron coated flowers

Holding true of all you mean to me

This my love, is all I can imagine

As my mind does breathe the scent of you

In my heart now runs a raging river

Tiny waves of everlasting true

Dance this day, for you have caught the rainbow

Listen close and hear the church bell toll

In this field where wonders start to happen

And I take you to be my very own

Whisper soft and tell me that you love me

Drink a toast as endless dreams come true

I will be your everyday before us

On this day and always I love you

This definitely would make a beautiful work of art for a wedding. I'm glad you wrote it for your daughter. She will certainly be grateful for it!
I loved your vivid descriptions. I felt as if I were right there, waltzing through that meadow, taking in the sunshine and the beauty surrounding me.

Thank you so very much for your kind words Raven.
Definitely a perfect wedding piece! I love the title; it sets the tone perfectly, for all we ever have (in love or anything else) is the present day to savor. Very nice!
