Shattered By Jack Ivey Tiny slivers, scattered, lost To what do we now owe this cost Of love’s embrace no longer seen Reflecting on the midnight dream Days of past when we were new On morning’s grass and crystal dew The rising sun to fill our eyes Amidst the warmth of summer skies Though time hath proved the enemy To clench thy love away from me As if a thief in shadowed stance Removed the essence of romance Alas those days were all but clear Upon the breath of the featured fear To disappear before they start In pieces of my shattered heart © 2013 Jack...Author's Note
